It seems lots of threads are being closed all the sudden, for no apparent reason. I can understand something being off topic, but many closed threads are IN the OFF-Topic section? Many active discussions are being ended.

If the rules have changed and we are no longer a democratic forum, could someone post some simple rules to go by? The success of an open forum depends on discussion. Premature closing of threads appears to clean things up, but in reality it stifles the voice of the membership and leads to less and less activity.

Are we only allowed to discuss Sebring, AC, Axle Bolts and Bony's Avatar? :confused All worthy topics, but I used to enjoy visiting the forum and participating in some fun banter, now it's all business.

Examples? I looked and see one closed thread, and I think the guy that posted it closed it himself because his link didn't work.

*edit* I looked in the moderator log and isaakgt closed it himself, and ACRJoe closed the thread he started in this section himself. Shelby#18 closed his thread in tech himself. Kingman and 06gt1858 closed two before that, and I closed a couple, one being the redundant halfshaft bolt thread, one being the Rally III thread which was just moved over to the subscribed section, and the other being the poster thing, which I can explain to you via PM what was getting inappropriate.

We can close our own threads? Hmmmm, guess I need to open my instruction manual :willy
OK, I see it now, I'll close this thread before anyone tells me how stupid I am.

:lol
