I like it .....

Probably wouldn't work so well on a car with stripes though.

Especially with my no-stripe car, people race up behind me, trying to figure out what it is. There is a standard 3.5" wide Ford oval, I may stick one on. The attached pdf shows what it would look like.

Am I crazy?
Paul,
I like it.

I would suggest four chrome or matte machined letters: F O R D

This was done on front of Original GT40

I like it too but I'm not sure that will stop vehicles from approaching. I'm starting to get used to it but sometimes it's still unnerving. I'd say do the blue oval if you like the look!

Just put a sticker on the back windshield that says "Keep Guessing"

Paul-

Have you decided to keep your GT?

BTW- I don't particularly like the oval there. To each his own though.

That is a great idea.

I like the blue oval as well.

Blue Oval on the rear

Have the blue oval on the right rear side - looks good on a white with blue stripes. Also added a Powered by Ford sticker on the clamshell window. Minimizes questions and shows the Blue Oval Pride.

I didn't think much of the idea at first but after seeing the pic I think it looks good. I'll bet you can get them from your Ford dealer cheaper than e-bay though.

That could look really nice, and classy.

F O R D looks sharp; picks up silver/steel cues from muffler, tranny "works" of back

The blackouts look to tamed; you need visual stopping power

Personally, I like it better without the oval on the back - sleeker and keeps 'em guessing. No matter what, the car looks good.

I had that problem with a Maserati Ghibli once -
people crowding you so they could read the name.

If it wasn't such an insane price ($129), the special billet license plate frame Ford racing has for the GT might be the solution. http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=7344. Does anyone know where we can get the same thing for a reasonable price?

BTW, you know how with the doorsill stripe package it says in HUGE letters "FORD GT". I can't count how many times some bozo has walked up to the car or shouted from traffic "What is it?" !!! No matter how big your sign on the back of your car is, you're probably still going to get the same thing happening anyway. :confused

I like the idea!
