The story behind the Matech Ford GT1 purchase

Nice story. Thanks for the update. And congratulations again.

Great story. If I understand correctly, you were at Le Mans in 2010 with the 60 Corvette - and at that time no connection to the FGT Group visiting Matech or the cars?

Fantastic experience all the way around Lance.

Great stuff Lance! So happy those cars are in the US and people get to see them!

Great story !! Thanks for sharing and thank you again for brining the cars to The Rally !! :thumbsup
It was a real treat to see the cars and see them at the track. I think the gentleman driving the Track prepped Mustang told me he had a video of when we were on the track. I would love to see it !! Hope to see you and the cars at Rally 10 !!

That is correct, my only connection was talking to Dave about meeting up. However time flew by during all the excitement and we never had a chance to catch up. I was there solely to reunite Mr. Fitch and the '60 Corvette back to its stomping ground 50 years later. Following Le Mans are started to educate myself on the Matechs cars due to the fact I fell in love! Lol

I'll hit him up for the video, he was a nice guy!

Lance,

One of, if not, the finest write-up to appear on the Forum. You and your wife did a marvelous job. Thanks to both of you for spending the time to put it together and share.

Photos definitely the best. Steven is fantastic!

Looking forward to some fantastic viewings of the cars next year.

Guys are right; that engine sound and the rooster-tail at VIR are priceless memories.

Happy New Year!

Bill

I wish I had know about the Corvette you brought - I guess we just focused on the Matech experience. I´m sure you already have lots of pictures from Le Mans, but i´d be happy to share all the pictures we took from our trip.

Cheers

Anders,

I'd love to see your pictures! In fact, when Dave & Camilo came to the Carlisle Ford Nats last year when we unveiled the cars Camilo let me copy all his images during the Le Mans race. It's great to have this stuff for the future of the car - like when we're all gone (or at least too old to remember?!) lol.

Preserving the history is extremely important, who knows… perhaps we'll have to reunite the Matech cars 50 years down the road, chances are I won't be around… but the next caretaker will certainly appreciate the fact that I handed over everything pertaining to the car(s). Can you tell I love this stuff?! :-)

Thanks!

Lance
