Last week I purchased a lowering kit from MR2race (T&A). I installed it on Friday and could not be happier. I have done quite a few mods to my FGT both cosmetic and mechanical and this is definately my favorite one to date. I lowered the car 1" in the front and 3/4 in the rear. At first I was very hesitant to do this mod because the pictures I had seen of other FGTs' with this mod did not appear to look much different then stock. This is deffinetly not the case when you see a lowered FGT in person. The car takes on a whole new look and it is awsome. Definetly a more exotic and race ready look. My FGTs' new stance is menacing to say the least. If you are on the fence about doing this mod all I can say is you will not regret it.

Any pix? Coincidentally, I have plan to have the same done this summer.

If you like the lowering kit ,try the single adjustable shocks !They are great !

+ 1 !!!

I agree. The T&A lowering kit really enhances the look of the FGT. With the lowering kit the FGT looks like it was supposed to look. I wasn't going to do any mods at all but then saw the GTGuys install a T&A lowering kit on a FGT and I was smitten with how the car looked.

That was all it took!:thumbsup

Gotta have those!

Yeah, and if you like those, try the triple adjustable Penski coilovers set up by Alex at T&A with the remote reservoirs.

I don't know how to make any of the adjustments but the handling is much sharper and they look bitchin'! :biggrin

How the hell do you guys get out of the driveway??? I scrape the front and rear each time.

Heck, it's tough just going over speed bumps.:ack

Maybe a dumb question here but is the adjustability for the rebound rate? I assume once you set the ride height, you mostly leave that alone.

There are multiple adjustment systems too, Just finer adjustments or different characteristics?

Chip

This is why I got the single adjustables :lol

Mine didnt scrape anywhere lowered 1.5" up front and 1" in the rear.

Then I got aftermarket wheels with lower profile tires and now it's a pain in certain areas. :ack

More knobs please.

Michael,

Rebound, Compression, Preload, Ride Height, & who knows what else. More knobs, hoses, and reservors has got to be better right? :willy None of us know how to take advantage of all that stuff so we just have Alex or Shadowman or GT Guys set them up and thats it. :lol

I can't even make a fine adjustment on my radio!

Chip

Hey Chip, there is no fine adjustment on your radio.

Got it. :thumbsup

Just trying to figure out the varying levels of their systems.

I want to get a kit, please. Alex you out there?

We have the FGT performance shock world cornered.
With all levels of damper up grades.

A lowering kit for stock shocks and springs

And then:
Non-adjustable damping coil over Penske.
That has threaded spring seats to allow you to lower the ride height.
In-line Monotube design (has no bump canister to install)
And is re-buildable (unlike the stock shocks)
Tuned to perform like a blueprinted version of the production shock.
Priced below the factory unit.
Can be fitted with stock springs. Or race style 2.5” ID springs

Next level:
Single adjustable (version of above) (This one has become quite popular).
Performance version of the above unit.
Has the Penske red knob shaft adjuster. That’s range goes from softer than stock.
To race car firmer than production.
It uses an open jet so the damping changes affect both Rebound and Compression.
Like the non-adjustable is easy to install as it has no remote canister to mount.

Next Level:
Is still in prototype phase, and not quite ready.
A double adjustable based on the Penske 7500 package
(Easy to install as it has no remote canister to mount)(Like above units).

But has separate rebound and compression adjusters.
Red knob on the shaft becomes rebound only adjuster.

And a new separate compression only.
Allen key style adjuster is added to a new foot valve style body cap.

Next Level:
Penske 8760 package with custom parts to be fitted on the FGT.

This “full race” unit can be built as a double adjustable
(separate rebound and compression adjusters).

Or can be ordered as a triple adjustable (3 way) unit that has the same red knob rebound shaft adjuster.
And a high speed and a low speed compression adjusters on the remote canister.

Next Level:
You could order a 4 way with high and low speed rebound adjusters.

But no one has ever requested this option for the FGT.

Are you confused yet?

Next big FGT shock project?
You will need to stay tuned…..
