I have a 2005 fordgt. Having trouble starting for about 8 months. Ignition on, in neutral, clutch depressed, push ignition button nothing, try again starts. Take gt out come back shut it off in drive way try to start nothing. Now hear clicking from where starter is located no start. Ford says starter is obsolete, Car is on lift in my garage, took off rear defuser and plate. Looks like rear exhaust has to come off. Any ideas. I live in Port St. Lucie Florida

Clean both ends of the chassis ground cable at the battery.

Yeah, almost certainly a connection problem - most likely a ground cable. Ironically, the primary ground cable attaches to the chassis via a nutsert which is far from ideal. The small-ish nutsert to frame contact area can corrode over time. Clean these areas thoroughly and I bet your problem is solved. It is very, very, very unlikely to be your starter.
