Stainless Works headers

Ive been looking to make my car louder (currently have the Ida catback) and had a couple of questions before pulling the trigger. I was thinking of ordering the system without cats.

Couple of questions:

Does anyone have the "race" version of the stainless works system?

Is it significantly louder than the catted version? I like loud but dont want drone at ~2000 rpm.

Also, because of less backpressure, has anyone noticed a drop in boost? My car is making 630rwhp with the standard 2.7" pulley and I dont want to accidentally lose power because the car is making less boost.

Thanks

I've since learnt that Shadowman is the guy who knows everything about Stainless Works exhaust systems for the GT. Heck he even helped them "tweak" their own header system.

I highly recommend giving him a call or sending him an email/PM to discuss.

Hope this helps :cheers

If you lower back pressure the boost may go down, however you don't lose any power, you gain power if the tune is right. The engine makes power based on how much gas it can burn with air. The blower is moving just as much air as before, but the net power to the wheels may be higher. The reduction in back pressure makes is easier to move the same volume of air through the engine and lowers IAT2 at the same air flow, at times allowing slightly more boost and or timing than before.

I optimized tune would automatically adjust the timing due to the lower IAT2 with less back pressure.

I agree. I also spoke with Bill about the Stanless Works system. He has a remove and install thred somewhere here. He also has a "tune" to go with the installation.

My understanding is the system is quite loud even with the metal cats. If it's too loud for your taste, Shadowman has Baffels that can be easly installed at the tips.

I hope to get a set but had some unexpected $$ bills (new roof) on the summer home. So, maybe next year.

Keep us posted on what you end up getting.:thumbsup

I did/do in fact work with the team at Stainless Works; and in fact we continue our quest always looking for ways to make it even better.
