Speedhut boost gauge calibration for MAFia

Where did you get the CF backing?

I still need to get the holes cut. If you want one let me know. I can do the tach or speedo any size... I can'y cut the factory tach tho (its got that weird flat bottom). Kip still has the factor dash covered so if you have factory gauges... give him a shout. He may do these now too. If so, I will quit offering them.

My guy will make the dash for $600. Cutting the holes is another $150.

I think the red tach is a massively good choice! I always love to see people tinkering with this car. Its really mod friendly.

Fubar had them made them up.

I no longer dread the day when (if) my gauges fail, because the speedhut solution is so cool.

Does the "check gauges" light come on when fuel is low?

I have not let it run that low, but the gauge light does come on before starting the car while the needle is in the red zone.

I just played on the SpeedHut site with the gauge design tool. I must say pretty cool.....almost cool enough even without a gauge failure. Has anyone used the text feature......it looked pretty cool with "FORD GT" in there.....but maybe too much on every single gauge?

And now I just saw the pic in this thread with the red tach, and it has "FORD GT" in it....duh. But, it's only in one gauge, I assumed using the design tool that text would go on every gauge.

You can make special notes when placing the order and request proofs before they go into production. They seem pretty flexible with custom designs.

Stick a direct reading vacuum gauge into the SC manifold port with a length of hose and have a passenger read it while you drive to compare. You'll need to position it adequately of course.

Good idea. The issue was that my oil pressure gauge went out just after the MAFia installation, so I did not want to drive the car to check the boost gauge readout before then new gauges were in.

Except that vacuum numbers larger than 29.92 only serve to show that the gauge maker knows nothing of physics.

29.92 inHg (760mmHg or 0 Torr) is a perfect vacuum. The total absence of matter. You can never go beyond this, or even get all that close in the manifold. Lets leave discussion of anti-matter to the Sci Fi channel....

Good to know. I am surprised that no one caught that including the DiabloSport engineer I asked about this calibration.

Thanks for the dash. It went in much easier than the old one came out.
