Check out this album, pretty typical Saturday morning at Crystal Cove, just north of Laguna Beach.

Really nice! Sure beats the hell out of the Friday night Tower shops get together here in South Florida.

My Aunt and Uncle were down there yesterday, they called me and said a McLaren was there.

They meant the SLR.

Ever seen that orange Enzo down there Vic?

Unreal. Beautiful pearl orange paint on the Murcielago.

I'm not a very big fan of that CGT in yellow. You can get away with the color on an Italian, but it seems out of character with our German friends. The GT looks surprisingly good in solid yellow, though it appears lighter than I recall the standard speed yellow...

Man-just a few million dollars sitting there, eh?

My touring club is making plans to visit the Pebble Beach Concours in 2008-we'll be traveling from Ankeny, Iowa along the Lincoln Highway to the Monterey Peninsula, staying at either the B/W Monterey Beach or Victorian Inn, then making a run up the PCH to Victoria, BC. If anyone wants to join us they are more than welcome-you can find out more at www.fordclassicstouring.org

For some reason, I never see it. And I never see the McClaren F1 when it shows up either. I've got terrible timing! I guess you have to go every week, so you don't miss anything.

I have seen a Jaguar XJ220 there, which is a very beautiful car. Once in a while, it seems like all the BMW Z8s show up at once.

*edit* Maybe its not exactly a typical Saturday, because there was the Enzo there, one of two that are known to come sometimes, and I think 4 Porsche GTs, several Ford GTs, so today was probably a cut above normal. Probably because it was the last Saturday get together before Christmas. Usually there are several 360s, Panteras, Vipers, A 430 or two, and occasionally a regular Saleen S7. Last time I was there, there was a Saleen S7 twin turbo, very impressive.

Thanks for posting those Vic.

I was there with my GT in early September. I got there sort of late but the people that were still there absolutely mobbed me and the car. I never got away to look at the other cars because I was standing in my door opening answering questions for over an hour.

Then I went back about month later and there were two other GTs, a blue one with full stripes just like mine and a black one with full stripes. People were occasionally checking out my GT but nothing like the first trip. And then a white one drove though just to see what was there before leaving again.

It was fun while it lasted. Now I'll just have to enjoy the car for why I like it and not bask in how much it impresses others.

Oh darn... :lol

It is a great place to go. Not exactly your typical cruise-in.

Must feel real cool to own one! Me, I'm still drooling.....

I don't think the GT will ever cease to impress- Its just that Crystal Cove has so many fine cars, it "steals the thunder". Its still an absolutely amazing sight to behold. :thumbsup

The white GT owner doesn't sound too friendly.... :confused

When you get used to your car, you can increase your enjoyment by modding it with that big Whipple! :bow

I'm too lazy to look at the link right now, but I know there is a Fayence yellow CGT that goes to CC, so that's probably the one pictured.

Nice photos. I thought the yellow de-striped GT looked superb, is that one of 'ours'?

Sorry to show my ignorance, but what was the Ferrari (photo 13). I'm not sure I've seen one of those before.

The paintwork on the Murcielago is great isn't it? I very nearly went for an orange one (Eric Clapton had an orange one..) but went with the pearl yellow which was beautiful. However it was always plagued with horse flies (not sure what you call them in America, big flies that sting) when I cleaned it. Yellow seems to attract insects!!

The yellow GT at Crystal Cove is mine (#1245). The color is Speed Yellow and it was a special order without the painted center stripes and with the option - "Body side tape stripe delete".

Would be interested in finding out if there were any others done this way - has anyone seen one?

Most who see the car in person feel that it is stunning and the color along with the absence of stripes allows the true lines of the body to be appreciated.

Ah ha!

Well congratulations on your GT - I think if I'd seen yours before buying the red.... hmmm! It's fantastic looking. It sort of looks more of a blend of GT40/GT - really great. Kind of old fashioned but also new - a very captivating look, I like it a lot.

Have you more photos of it to share with us?

I have done - and look forward to seeing more photos. I suspect I'll be frustrated thinking I should have tried for this color too!

By chance, I passed a specialist dealer yesterday (I've bought cars from them in the past) and they have a blue de-striped one in stock at £159,000 which is $273,543.68. Which is roughly what you have to pay in the UK to own a GT.

DLK,
I'd like to see more of the combo as well. If you'd like, instead of emailing you can just hit the link on the toolbar that says 'user cp', click 'edit vbgarage' and then upload pics straight to the server. That way everyone can take a look. :cheers

That's pretty stunning to see the GT and F430 Spider priced the same. The F430 Spider currently commands about a 100k premium over a GT in the U.S.

I really like the blue without the center stripe.
