Happen to notice these two figures in the 2005 Workshop Manual. The first references the exhaust heat shield shown just in front of the muffler. Does anyone have one of these on their car? The second talks about the removable tailpipe tips. Never seen those either. I suppose these were early "features" in place when the manual was being put together, then since discarded prior to production (unless they exist on the early models???). IMG_0001.jpgIMG2.jpg

I think you are correct. I never seen these on a non-modified car.

The 2006 book has all the right stuff.

The 05 shop manual (and the 06) is filled with inconsistencies. The early PB-1 cars had removable tail pipes that were a lot smaller (2 1/4") I never saw any cars with the heat shield. I knew the guy writing the manual. He told me that in order to meet the cars release dead line, he had to start writing it long before the first cars were built. The 06 manual was much improved, but still has differences from the cars.

2005 manual the oil change is entirely missing! Agree with the above and purchase the 2006 manual even if you have a 2005!!

I think 2006 GTs are worth a lot more than 2005. I wonder how many parts the assembly line forgot to install on the 2005s
