Shadowman likes this Personal Touch Item

Let me begin by saying that it is truly very cool that I am able to spend time with many of the GTs out there and in doing so twist and tweak a few of them.

When I was at the SoCal rally I not only met Kip Ewing; a truly wonderful person and craftsman but also saw what at that time was one his latest creations; the carbon fiber and leather center console storage cubby/armrest. For me it was a no brainer and immediately requested one from Kip.

Since that day I have likely installed more of these than anyone else and I have to share that it is IMO one of the coolest personal touch items out there. So much so that I just called Kip here on New Year's eve after installing yet another to share just how much I like them.

Now like most I was a bit anxious when I initially considered the idea of having to trim a hidden portion of the OEM magnesium console however after completing the first integration I never looked back. It is not only a compliment to the gal's interior but it serves a tremendous value within a gal that has so few places to tuck items away. The space with will easily house a wallet, a large bungle of keys, and glasses and then when closed appears as OEM in both style and fit. Then add to this when opened the highly finished carbon fiber perimeter matches/ties in with the carbon seat backs within the same area and the leather wrapped lid is as if OEM leather and even a slight more padding.

In a word "AWESOME"

"Thank you" Kip for a truly fine addition to an already stellar gal.

Looks like a wonderful piece. Definitely a finishing touch, and well executed in design and function. Thanks for sharing the words and photos.

That looks great! Something else to add to the gotta have list!:wink

Happy New year Bill,

Now if only you were wee bit closer.......hmmm. Or if I had the expendable I could go for the whole enchilada CF and just ship the car to you and say what ever you did to your black & silver do to mine.

But I go to have one of those console compartments asap. Kip does live about 30 minutes away........hmmm.

Thanks for posting the pics. I have one of Kip's consoles being installed by the GT Guys in a few weeks. When I ordered it, I almost passed on the storage bin option but at the last minute I decided to add it. I'm glad I did.

Shadowman installed mine and I couldn't be happier with this quality product and the quality installation!

Kip isn't too far from you. Why not ask him to do the install?

Contact Kip Ewing and here's the thread:

While you're at it, check out his other CF pieces including tunnel (which you can now get with the storage bin built in), door trim rings, gauge panel, air scoops...

Also, Stormcat has excellent CF replacements as well including center console, SJB panel, bonnet...

Highly recommend both Kip and Stormcat - they're real stand-up guys with quality products.
