I hope that all have a wonderful weekend and while doing so take some time to think about why we are able to do so and thank all that made/continue to make this possible.

Takes care

Thank you Shadowman for your thoughts and reverence to our military heroes.

My wife and I have been recently humbled at how the Lord blessed our family and brought our son home in April from his tour in Iraq with the Army infantry.
And...every one of the soldiers in his company came back home to their families as well. 200 soldiers left in Oct. 2008, 200 soldiers returned. An incredible feat, and sadly, so very very rare.

Our prayers go to each of you in our Forum who have had family and friends selfishly defend our liberty and the liberty of others around the world.:usa

My father who I never knew died in Vietnam. My adoptive father served as an ambulance driver on the front lines in Korea. Words can't describe the respect I have for both of these men.

On a side note my dad was assigned to chauffeur Marilyn Monroe during a USO visit to his base in Korea. My mom has a picture of my dad who was probably 19 or 20 at the time driving a Jeep with Ms. Monroe in the back. He will not speak much about his experience and the horrific things he saw but he does get a smile on his face when you speak about that experience.

"Thank you" falls quite a bit short, doesn't it.

Thank you!

These threads always make me feel both very sad and extremely greatful. I often think back about all the living I've been given the oppertunity to do sense I was 18 (now 52) and how many have selflessly given up their chances to do the same.

God Bless and Rest in Peace men and women of service. :usa

Thanks, Shadowman for starting this thread!

Most importantly, THANK YOU to every Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine for your service to our nation.

If possible, everyone should thank a veteran this weekend as we honor our patriots and fallen heroes.

Memorial Day
