I just stored the FordGT, Thunderbird, Shelby Mustang and the Harley. Took the insurance to 'storage mode' today.
Gas Tanks full, Stabil added, vehicles waxed, tire pressure at 44 psi., Battery tenders installed. Covers ready to install tomorrow... I want one 'last look' before hibernation.
I even put up my big welded "FordGT' metal sign that I purchased at LasVegas Rally III in the garage..
Sleepy time.

Understood! I get it - Minnesota.

Putting the final touches (ok so the first 90% is done, now we do the second 90%) on the man cave. At least I can look at my toys this winter. It sucks we cant drive during the winter - but it makes spring oh so special!

Yes. (is it snowing there yet?) It makes spring so much more enjoyable.
One item I forgot to mention (and I will do it tomorrow) is to put some lubricant on the rubber parts (door seals, Trunk snubbers etc). GTJoey and a few folks discussed in an earlier post.
Not sure exactly what material I will use..

Aaaaaaaaaaaaah, 'tis true. But, there are far worse things one could face in life, right, Andy? :cheers

Yogi Berra? Is that YOU?!

Just finished washing and waxing the GT. Will finish detailing the inside of the car tomorrow and then put her to sleep for the winter.

Put mine away last Saturday and it's always a little sad. However each spring she's like a virgin once again and I get to start the love affair all over. The smell of the leather, the shine from Falls last minute wax, first sound of the motor starting up, people looking and pointing, spring is truly like the first time I drove it in '05 all over again. (No Sam, there's not something weird going on up here in N Idaho with me the car and the local sheep).

Ha Ha that's funny. Did you move on to a different species?

LMAO I was about to agree with my friend Steve but on second thought lol.

We had almost 2 feet up here on Wed and more coming next week but Denver didn't sand on most main sections so I'm planning on a couple hundred miles this weekend before loading her up in the trailer and bring her up for bed for the winter. Come one Tony get that camera mount and let's go!

I was thinking of putting mine up for winter...then I remembered there is no winter down here! However, there IS a Shelby/Cobra club day at Willow Springs on Sunday. Thinking of driving up in the GT and trying out the new Bridgestones. But my hometown (Denver) family members have confirmed it: Winter be here!

Nah.. we have weeks of Indian Summer and golf left. Now if they would just stop covering the roads with sand and mag chloride every time we get a dusting to keep the CA vagrants from crashing their brains out, we'd be just fine.

I'm running mine til I see flakes.

Had her out yesterday - 45 degrees and sunny - and good traction with the Bridgestones.

I see a couple more chances to drive coming up

:banana

Andy,

Suffering through the onset of winter down here in Scottsdale as well. It's finally cool enough to have dinner outside on the patio but I had to turn the pool heater on for about 30 minutes to get the water temp up to 89 degrees so the girls could swim naked while the rest of us enjoyed a cigar. Batten down the hatches and hopefully we'll all make it through this winter.

Pictures of the Pool activities would be greatly appreciated.

I drove mine over the weekend. It was 50 and sunny.

All I can say to you warm climate residents is you have no idea what you are missing. Freezing cold, no sunny days sometimes for weeks, snow that never melts and wind that blows right through you.... I mean seriously... who in the right mind would want to miss that, its great for..... Oh wait.... we are humans and not penguins or polar bears... sorry.... I seriously hate all of you from December to March.... I go out into the garage and look at the cars... and well that is about it.. I look!!!

Oh please ........ GTJoey and Chris drive in snow and ice North of the freezing line.

Chip - when I grow up, I want to be just like you.
By the way, I had to get the HarleyMCycle out today for one last ride. The FordGT would have been too much trouble to 'wake-up' for only one day but I needed a 'motorized-fix".

Oh those Bridgestones! It was only about 40 when I left for Sunday's drive and I was not able to force the rear end to break loose in the normal aggressive maneuvers like accelerating hard in a turn from a parking lot. I haven't even tried a burnout but expect I might need a line lock now. I am impressed.

Chip, too bad about having to turn on the pool heater. :) Did you enjoy your cigar?

Temperatures dropping radically here tonight and cold storm and snow expected Friday & Saturday. Almost took the GT over to Yosemite Valley today, but would up doing chores to prepare for the upcoming winter. Now that the day is over, I wish I'd gone to Yosemite.

Oh well - :screwy:

Ralphie, the Tioga and Sonora passes (with stop offs in Yosemite, Jamestown and Columbia) are two of my very favorite Hwy's. A bunch of us ride that part of the Sierras every year on the bikes. If not located in Kalifornia I would live in that area.
