Never really paid much attention to these. Feel like it is time to check them out. Anyone have recommendations on the best? I'd like to stick with a cordless.

Centerpunch is giving you real good advice. I have owned radar detectors since the Fuzzbuster came out (mid '70's). I used to modify the earilier Escort detectors and their construction quality has been very good in the past. Most of the detectors being sold today work pretty well. Since I live and drive in So. California, I feel that a detector with good laser radar detection is the most important feature nowadays. The Escort jammer system works well and it's high price is easily offset when you realize the cost of getting one moving violation. If my insurance company finds out about a new ticket, I think they increase my rate by 25% on all four of my cars...

My choice: Bel RX65. I think it's still the only one out of the box with Ku band already on it.

Plenty of radar detector sites with discussions about the top 3 detectors out there.

Valentine One is the only way to go. I have one in every vehicle, saved me a fortune in tickets.

My Valentine One has been a trusted buddy for the past eight years. Highly recommended. :thumbsup Centerpunch, thanks for the radar jammer slant. I'll need to do some research.

Jammers are not legal in some state. California is one of them.

Perspective:
What the 'crazy italians' do is, they link the power supply to the <hidden> Jammer (the only thing that gives you tranquility) to the radio power.. Then, when Police stops you, just turn off the radio as a sign of respect... :lol

Valentine works perfectly, always plenty of warning. However It does bother me having stuck on the window, hurts outward vision a bit and I feel slightly foolish driving by a CHP with that stuck on the window and a 11-99 plate.

Just stumbled across this article on gizmodo. Apparently laser jammers are the way to go and they are legal...

I hate to burst your bubble but the jammers are not legal in a few states... California is one of them.

Are your products legal in my state?

Rocky Mountain Radar Jammers have been designed to conform to all Federal Regulations. Part 15 of the FCC regulates consumer products which may transmit or leak Radio Frequency (RF) energy into the atmosphere. Since our jammers do not transmit, we can disregard the sections on transmitters.

The radar jammer portion is classified as a reflective receiver; that it receives the police radar signal and reflects it back to the radar gun. Part 15 controls the levels of RF leakage from products designed to comply with this statute.

The lidar portion actively transmits an infrared light in front of the vehicle. But there are no FCC laws limiting light transmission.

Our jammers are legal everywhere except California, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Washington D.C.

That doesn't mean you can't put one in and have it hidden.

Bony... We now have 21 California GT owners signed up on the California Registry. I'm guessing they are all from this site.
