Earlier, there was a great post on repairing damaged rear diffuser blades with epoxy. However, if it is scrapes a person is worried about, try placing the small diameter flexible door edge protection strip material along the exposed diffuser blade edges. If you should happen to have a slight contact, this material will protect the blade edges to some degree. If it scrapes through, just replace it. The guards are self adhesive, and don't look bad at all when installed. You can wrap the one-piece strip right around the corners on the blades, perfectly with a heat gun.

Thanks for the kind words, Empty Pockets. I have also used this material, in varying sizes, for years to protect the leading painted edges of hoods and other seams on my metal cars from rock chips and bug hits. It works great. It also works well on the painted top rear edges of hoods to protect from windshield squeegees and frost scrapers. I'm now researching for an appropriate strip to protect the leading edge of the FGT side scoops.

i was actually thinking of applying the type of door edge protector on the blades, too -- but for a different reason.
after servicing my GT, i was tidying up afterwards by sweeping. I cut one of my fingers almost to the bone on the sharp edge of the diffuser blade while running the broom under the car.
those edges are SHARP !!
