Is there a written procedure or pictures how to change the battery in a 06 GT? Step by step process. From what I am seeing, it is not just disconnect the battery and put a new one in.......

I have swapped mine. Nothing fancy and I have limited mechanical skills, at best.
Would strongly recommend removing and cleaning nearby ground strap connection to metal chassis. Easy to see it.

The procedure does not reference the fact that removing the battery will cause the OBDII Engine Adaptives to be lost. What worked for me was to attach the Ford battery tender (through the accessory port) before removing the battery and then to insure that the positive terminal was protected from shorting to ground (I wrapped it with electrical tape first). After this I didn't have to run a drive cycle. This is particularly important if you have emissions test that are OBDII based.
You may want to get some of this for your battery connections.
