Prices stabilizing?

When I bought my 7k mile Z8 last Jan 2013 for $120k, the Z8 market was still flat. I could probably ask $200k today and get something close to that, but its a keeper. In the meantime, the Porsche market caught fire and the Ford GT market kept going strong. I finally was able to get into a Ford GT last month paying top dollar, but I feel that in a few years it wont matter. I consider the Z8, Ford GT, and Carrera GT that last of the modern supercars that you can shift yourself. The CGT is still on my list, and even that market has moved a lot over the past 6 months.

...But the 1968-69 #1075 car is by far and away universally considered the most valuable GT40 in the world when you read all the posts on that site as well as many others.

I'm sure that makes Rob Walton very happy!

:agree:

I got lucky on the GT (got one at MSRP in August 2005). I've wanted a Z8 since they hit showroom and meant to get one at some point. Watched them hover around $100,000 for years. WHOOPS! :bang

You snooze you lose.

Same with the CGT, though I probably never could have afforded one of those, even at the bottom of their value curve.

Lesson? If you want something just buy it. Try to "time" the market and you'll get burned every time.

Love the z8 as well. Wish I had bought one.

2 cars have won LeMans twice. Only one American car/driver/engine team has ever won LeMans.

In this regard, it might be interesting to get the opinion of Messers. Gurney and Foyt.
