Preventative maintence saved me

With all the recent talk of air filters letting go causing stuck throttle blades and ect.. ect... i took the time to check mine.

These are from Ford and i just put them in last summer, they have 490 miles on them. Can some one chim in with a part number for an alternative filter? Im not shopping price im more concerned with the quality on this matter?

Time to use after market air filters. I want to stick to paper and went with Fram.

I found several old posts on the subject { sorry i guess i should have done this first} and it appears there are a couple options.

NO- on the K%N's in my opinion!!

Napa- 2572

If someone has a better idea i would love to here it.

I might add one thing.

When i handle the edges of these filters they crumble and fall apart like the foam has somehow been efficted over time, mabie from heat?
They literally just fall apart. I did not have to trim them when they were new as some people have said, they fit great, they just crumble as you handle them.

Pretty disheartening!!!! they are not even 1 year old.

Are the green and blue filters the same as K&N but different colors?
