Pre- Rally Activities in Detroit

Hello fellow Petrolheads and Rally Attendants !

Mimo and I are arriving in Detroit on the 20th of August - 5 days prior to the start of the Rally.
We are looking for friends who are also already in the vicinity and are ready to do some pre-rally activities eg. driving to Niagara Falls.
Since we have 5 days available, we would love to hook up with FGT friends who are planning something similar.
Look forward to your suggestions and ideas.

if you have any interest, there is a really nice "cars and coffee" at Ligenfelter Engineering every Saturday morning. a lot of high end cars show up.
it's an easy drive. about 20-25 minutes N.W of Dearborn. just a suggestion. I usually go every other Saturday.

Personally, I would drive to St. Louis and meet the rest of us then turn around and drive back to Detroit.
 
Its a bit too far for us european hinterlanders, but thanks for the suggestion and invitation. See you at the rally !

have a few people intersted in a dinner cruise to Woodward Monday evening. meet at the hotel at 6:00pm? Pasquales on woodward. plenty of good parking and a big restaurant to accomodate a lot of people. just a thought. anyone in??

My wife and I will be around the late afternoon evening of the 24th.
 
let's just all meet at the hotel at 6:00 and get a count. I can call ahead for the set up and hire a 6'6" babysitter to stay in the parking lot while we eat.
 
My wife and I are in for Monday dinner. See everyone at the hotel.

the 6'6" baby sitter is scheduled for Monday night to sit in the parking lot of the restaurant while we're inside eating. we might have to throw him a pizza or hind quarter off a steer but there will be no worries about our GTs while he's at watch! isn't that calming !!!
 
Sounds great since I read where 3 cars were stolen during the recent Dream Cruise on Woodward.
