That's an interesting point. I teased Dave about this before the new GT news came out, because, suddenly, the MkIV image appeared on the masthead (apparently it has since disappeared). But in the scheme of GT40 things, the MkIV kinda falls through the cracks. A 65-66 Mk I has a lot in common with the 05-06 GTs, as of course, does the wide body 68s &69s. Even a 66 MkII closer resembles our cars than the MkIV. That being said, the new car probably does have some lineage to all the models.
