Here's an old one:

2006 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

The Saleen S7 is powered by a twin turbocharged 427 CID V8 Ford engine and is a hand built limited production American Car. The body of the car is carbon fiber and incorporates the use of scoops, spoilers, and other aerodynamic features to create split-channel airflow throughout the car and at 160 MPH creates its own weight in downforce.

Engine: 750 HP @6,300 RPM 700 ft lbs @ 4,800
Transmission: 6 Speed manual
Weight: 2,900 lbs
Top Speed: 248 mph
0–60 mph: 3.3 sec
0–100 mph: 6.0 sec
0–1320 ft ¼ mile 10.6 sec @ 139.8 mph

List price: $580,000
Price as tested: $602,442

Were any ever driven to 248 mph?

Not sure of your point. The reference was for weight, power, performance metrics. And yes, the cars and prices are different.

Just adding a stat to the benchmark. Performance/$.

I think performance/$ of the FGT2 will beat the S7 on most metrics. I'm just not sure that the S7 top speed was mfr advertised or actual.

Saw my first S7 in the flesh at Concorso Italiano last year. Interior is spartan to say the least. Not sure what the projected final weight of PHX will end up being, but to get to 2900lbs with all the tech I imagine will be on that car, I don't see how they can come close to that.

Porsche Caymans are under 3000 pounds with a steel frame and nothing really exotic so Ford had better come way below that.

Caymans are much smaller...not really a fair comparison.

Aventadors tip the scale at 4k lbs, so can F12s. A Porsche 918 is about 3,700 lbs. Owners better turn those things in for Caymans! :lol

Not that I ever heard. At the first 0-200-0 shootout C&D did, Lee Saunders drove a TT S7 and it took him several tries before he knicked 200 mph on a 13,000 foot runway. When he finally managed to get it stopped he could have spit over the end. With different gearing it might be a different story, but as delivered, you'd need a really, really, really long road to ever see a speed like that.

I know Turbo Joe's car beat the crap out of the one at Rally I. I was in the passenger seat when it happened. It proved a 35,000 mod to a then 170.000 would beat down an S7.

It does not have turbos, intercoolers, has simple light strut suspension, etc...

S7 was and is a cool car...Much like the Gumpert Apollo they have to much down force and are not that quick/fast of a car in the higher mph ranges. I would love to own one as the looks are awesome tho..
