Does anyone know where I can get the rubber bumper stop for the clam shell?

I have not heard of those. I have owned the car for a couple of months and the clamshell has always been hard to close so I wanted to try and adjust the bumper down and it just broke off.

Replace with the springs(off of a Stang?). Part number is on the forum somewhere. Get new plastic inserts from 2112. Put anti-seize on threads of other stop before pulling it. You'll need nuts too. Right next to the stop is another part with the size/style nut you'll need. Use that part to order the nuts from Ford.

The clamshell stop you show came with 2005 and early 2006 GTs. Subsequently 2006 models came with the springs. Try Fordpartsgiant.com

I don’t have any solid Delrin left. I do have a few of the billet aluminum with Delrin inserts. $45 shipped for a set.

So…. I converted from the solid bumper to the sprung bumper along with my GTG’s clamshell lever bar about 13 years ago.

All was great for the first 9-10 years. Then the rubber cap failed. No problem, I bought spares and I threw another set on. That set lasted about 15 months. I have subsequently replaced them several times with each lifespan becoming shorter.

Last spring I was told Ford was out of stock and that remained the case until my dealer contacted me saying they were back in stock. I thought maybe this meant newly minted and more likely to last years. I installed a set to go to...
