Painting your shift knob

I thought the shift knob would look better with the numbers painted black. Here are the results.

Looks nice!

I just installed the polished aluminum knob, however I do not like the specular glare from the surface. I am going to put the original one back on. One complaint about the stock knob is the sharpness of the engraved surface. It almost cuts into the palm of my hand. I may paint mine also. Jay

Painting shift knob

It looks like you used gloss black. I think flat black would be better.

Yes. I could have used flat, statin, or gloss; I decided on the gloss. You might give flat a try and post some pictures. I think any color paint is an improvment over stock.
