Well I finally bought my first GT. Black, with silver stripes all the options. Came off the trunk with slight problem .... but that got fixed to my satisfaction. Anyway, just rolled it into the shop last night just in time for xmas. So I got up this morning my four year old son chomping at the bit to hear it for the first time. After letting it run for a minute so I could get some peace and quiet.

the urge hit me.....

So on this day just a few short of christmas I took it out for a spin around town ..... crazed seasonal drivers and all.

All I can say is WOW!!!! Look forward to seeing you guys at Indy!

Steve

Your "first" GT? Does that mean there will be more?

Congratulations and Merry Christmas!

it looks like it .... I must have an illness that a few here on the forum have also.

looks like I am picking up one to race a bit and then a heritage. why? I keep asking myself that question ..... then I find myself looking at photos of other GT's.

well .... I have more than one favorite wine. and you know the woman comment so .... oh hell.... they are cheaper than another divorce so I'll just shack up with the GT's:biggrin

A black one, one to race, and a Heritage...so by my count that is three? Ah, the GT fever...

You must be a very sick man! :wink

Congratulations! :banana

well your the reason for the heritage! I keep looking at your photo and go "hmmmmmm".

Basically, its one to keep, one to trick out (race one, I have very sinister plans for it) and one to be able to say "back in my day"

send me a pm if you want to learn about the sinister car.

Buying a car is really easy ... a four year old can do.

you know the older I get the more things just strike me as funny. This last week something happened that made me chuckle. I'm a single dad (divorced) and have a four year old son that's going on 18.:lol

Anyway, since the weather in Denver was not right for flying we flew out to look at a heritage. So we are standing hand in hand looking at this perfectly wonderful car. when my son starts chanting "buy me the blue GT, dad". You know four year olds have to repeat everything until you tell them that you heard them. Anyway, I look at him and tell him that it is a "heritage" Gt. Which he then says "no, its blue". so we debate back and forth with me getting a larger and larger grin on my face. heritage. I say, Blue he says and on and on. Finally, I say" You know its called a heritage Gt, why won't you call it that?" .... He pauses with this firm, deep, thoughtful look and says "Because I can't say that word" . Which has me rolling on the floor laughing.

So the sales manager comes out seeing us talk about it. Now I have bought five cars from these guys over the last year or so. So they know me very, very well. The manager says its 172,000.00 and we can deliver it. Just as I am about to give my counter.... my son says. We will with give you $XXX,000. for the "blue one".

So I can actually say my son bought his first car.:thumbsup

We now have a 06 "Blue one". Isn't christmas break wonderful?

Steve,

Congratulations to your son on his "first" car purchase.

And it's THE COLOR TO HAVE to boot, especially if your a young boy [even an "old" boy as in my case].

Drive it in good health and enjoy the ride; along with the wonderful times to come with your son.

What a great story Steve! And might I add, your little one has excellent taste in cars!!! :thumbsup

I hate to break it to you .... but I already own three. Its been a good month for Ford GT salesmen. :lol

05 Blue/White
06 Soon to be Sinister GT
06 Heritage

I had a black/silver one but sold it the day it got back from the shop for the blue/white 05 ... went to my partner.... so its still in the "family". Why? he wanted it... and his wife said yes (she was drunk). :lol

The only question .... which one to keep and which one to trick out?

Steve, congrats, your my hero!:banana

Steve, congrats, your my hero!:banana

that from the "king of the avatars" ... I am truly not worthy.

Thank you.

I guess I need to get a class 8 truck and larger trailer so they can all go to the rallies.

Crap .... thats the problem with building a bigger garage .... its just never big enough. Maybe I should go talk to Jay Leno ... he's my Hero... atleast on the car front. :thumbsup
