This weekend I spent some time doing some cleaning on my new GT. I noticed when I set the hand brake there is a hard nob that rubs against the painted surround piece. I removed the boot and it is the welded piece to the handle arm that secures the cable end. The bracket securing the handle arm looks to be welded to the tunnel offering no adjustment. Anyone else have this problem and is there a fix?

Has anyone installed the floor mats offerd by roadworksauto.com. How is the fit, what do they all cover and how do they deal with the hump in the factory mats?

Lastly, my driveway goes up uphill so whern I moved the car back in the garage I gave it a little more than normal start out gas and didn't totally engage the clutch right of way. I could smell burnt clutch when I got out of the car. I do this all the time with my other cars and never have a problem. A friend has a 550 Maranello and he says to let the clutch out slowly without givng it gas and once moving then give it gas. He says his does the same thing otherwise. Anyone else have rhis issue?

I purchased 1/2" thick Lloyd mats from roadworksauto.com and they look and feel great and also cover/protect the painted surfaces on the sides of the footwell. I did not remove the factory mats (if you can call them that) primarily because I was concerned about temp/sound insulation. I would leave them in; the Lloyd mats cover them completely and effectively.

Thanks ACRJoe,

Are those the 32 or 48 oz. mats? Do they cover the wrinkle finish metal plate in front the the passenger footwell also?

48 oz.

Wrinkle finish? I'll have to check later. They definitely cover (and protect) the beautifully finished metal on the sides of the factory mats.

Maybe it isn't called wrinkle finish but it is the metal cover that has the four twist pin locks . It is at the end of the footwell behind which is the fuse block.

If you smell your clutch burning, sounds to me like you're in third gear, guaranteed to fry it in no time flat. Do a search here for third gear and see what's been said.

None and doubtfull I'd be able to get any worthwhile photos given the location. I can tell you for certain though that the Lloyd 1/2" 48 oz. floor mats look spectacular. Go for it!

Understood

Do I assume that the mat as offered by them is for the GT and not a generic made to work?

cont..........

Alright; so the questions continue. I just looked at roadworksauto's web site and huuuuummmm..... nothing like selection. If I might be so bold; specifically which mats did you order?

Your taking the time to reply is appreciated

I bought both sets of mats, they are custom made, fit like a glove, and I am 100% satisfied with them.

As Frank warned, avoid third gear starts at all costs...

oh yeah... welcome to this place :biggrin :biggrin
