New Speedhut gauges possibly not factory calibrated ?

Gents,
I had a new set of Speedhuts recently installed. Look real cool. I finally did my first extended drive yesterday.
After 8 yrs/15,000 mi, I 'think' I have a reasonable recollection of what my OEM gauges normally read.
It seems to me that at least some of the new gauge readings are off, but not sure if anyone else has noticed, and how to confirm.

With the new gauges, it appears to me that my engine temps are running quite a bit cooler than normal.
Also, RPM gauge seems to be reading lower than normal.
Speedo, not sure. Seems a bit fast, but may be my heavy foot.

Has anyone else noticed their Speedhut readings different than OEM gauges, or am I nuts?

I know I can confirm the speedo with my Garmin. Not sure how can confirm engine temp and RPM?

Any suggestions appreciated...

Thanks!

I'm having these installed bt GT Guys on their southern tour. Also interested in owners feedback

Do you have a newer SCT tuner to plug into the OBDII port? You can check the gauge readings against the PCM values.

ScanGaugeII

lol. That is a clip from the ScanGauge website. http://www.scangauge.com/products/

ScanGauge looks cool. I might have to order it.

My SCT tuner is way too old, doesn't read anything but CEL code#s.

You can also get an OBD bluetooth reader and then there's a myriad of options to read data direct to your phone, including engine temps, rpm etc. Or if your garmin has ecoroute or mechanic, you can similarly read via their OBD bluetooth connector. On fleabay, many OBD bluetooth readers are like $10. (I've got the garmin one which works great on my phone and my gps, so I have no idea how well the $10 ones will work)

UPDATE

I bought the ScanGauge 2 (on Amazon) at Xcentric's suggestion. Its readings matched the Speedhut gauges almost exactly, confirming at least that RPM; Temp; MPH; Voltage were all accurate. Not sure if there is a way to confirm boost ?, but all others seemed fine. Glad it was my imagination. Not the first time...

Thanks!

Maybe the stock gauges were off?

It might be that the amount of "sweep" is different, thus 'appearing' to look different to your eye (at least different than what you're used to). I know that I'm always stunned that I can actually SEE my gas needle move (I don't know if that's a factor of the larger amount of sweep, or just the way I'm driving it......:lol), but either way, glad your dials are working correctly. I love my 'huts.

I think you are probably right on. I'm relieved all working fine. Took my car for nice drive this weekend - with no Cats and Ford Racing exhaust, it is a lovely sound!
