Wow, wish I could get the Colorado State Patrol to lead the way down Big Thompson Canyon for me and 25 of my fellow gearheads. Someone will pluck the cars on the road out of the river later.

I don't doubt they were going fast, but if there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that no matter how fast you're going in a group of expensive/fast cars, someone is on the phone with the police telling them you're going 150 mph. Especially with some of the kinds of loud cars guys have here. "It's red! It makes alot of noise! It's expensive! Clearly something incredibly illegal is going on here!!!!"

Exactly. I was going through our downtown one day with the Cobra. The speed limit is 25. There were some people jaywalking coming from between parked cars and got all crazy telling me to slow down. I stopped since there wasn't anyone behind me and asked them to come over. "Do you know how fast I was going?" "Too fast". "Well, it was 18 and the speed limit is 25". "Oh, sorry, it looked a lot faster". "Well, maybe it wouldn't have looked so fast and I even would have stopped if you were crossing in the crosswalk. Jaywalking pedestrians in our town are treated like skunks, if we hit one the carcass stays in the road until animal control comes and picks it up (I said with a wink)." The did chuckle.

I get the same treatment in my neighborhood, though it's the senior citizens walking in the street, against traffic, 5 abreast, even though there is a sidewalk.

Our biggest problem around here is bicyclists. On two lane mountain roads with no passing they will completely block the traffic land. They are supposed to be single file but of course never block when there is a cop around. They do the same thing in bike lanes - 3-4 abreast with one or two right in the middle and rarely get back in the lane to let traffic around. It's pack mentality. One or two bicyclists are usually well behaved and yield to traffic. Get them in a pack and it's different. They're basically rude.

The only formal GT caravan I've been in was at BONY's memorial service. Everyone of the 23 cars drove at a respectful 15-25 mph, and crawled into the parking lot. The group was well appreciated by Lorna and all of the other attendees - of which there were well over 300. I felt very proud to be a member of that group.

Very respectful. Another person I truly wish I'd have been able to meet and enjoy some time with.

Another oldie - at least 24 GT's on the way to Vegas for Rally 3. We weren't exactly crawling on this one, though. Bony was in this group.

Sure, now the RED ones are the fastest ones instead of black stripe delete, et.al. :lol
