New GT's in Dealer Inventory--Search?

Is there a way to search the available inventory of new GT's in dealer inventory across the country? I have been unable to locate a website that allows for this. The prospect of randomly calling Ford dealers doesn't seem very efficient.

What specifically are you looking for - color & options?

Sorry for not being specific. I figured there were so few new GT's available I would be limited in my choices.

Options I definitely want are the Mac & wheels. A no-stripe car is desireable, but again, I assumed limited inventory would preclude that choice. As far as color goes either black, red, or white--probably in that order if a gun were put to my head, but any of the three would be fine.

The problem with the list is that Ford is way off on their own inventory. I've gotten the list a couple times and it's always wrong. I can see the Elder and Al Long cars are still on there...I checked on that Elder Ford car months ago and they said it had already been loooooong gone then.

Not sure why SVT can't generate an accurate dealer list, but for whatever reason, they can't.

I already exhausted the 2006 cars...all sold. Working on the '05s, but I bet they will be scarce as well.

Too bad Ford doesn't have a system to check current inventory...at least my local dealer tells me they don't. :confused

The last time i was in Rochester Minnesota, the Ford/Toyota dealer had a black one. It's worth a call.

The Ford in Morrow Bay CA has a brand new 05 that the dealer/owner bought and stored. Its Red with all 4 options. A month or 2 ago he wanted $20K over MSRP and he was not negotiable.

About 3 weeks ago Chino Hills Ford in Chino Hills Calif had a Heritage still for sale. It was supposed to be the last Heritage built. I couldn't hammer out my price so I moved on.

Willie Marshall is the sales manager, if it's still there.

For some reason not all cars show on the search. I know the Tungsten at Citrus Motors in Ontario never showed up. It has since been sold over MSRP from a few weeks ago. A very nice one.

When I was searching, I called many that were listed and long gone. I also found a few that were never listed. Not sure how the dealer does that.

I also found a car I wanted with only 10 miles on it but the car was titled in Texas and was advertised as new. So it would have been a used car with about 11 months less warranty. So after this was disclosed I settled on a different car for about the same money shipped, but brand new with full warranty.

I also had a Ford dealer friend of mine send me the list 2 weeks ago. Everyone one I called was gone.

The last one, in fact the last TEN, Heritages built were Canadian... the very last U.S.A. Heritage was built on 8/24/2006 and was VIN #401828

Edsel and Sonny got the last VIN's, but they weren't built sequentially. They took their time building those cars. Edsel reads the forum occasionally. Another Ford guy was supposed to get one of the last three but bailed on the car.

I have exhausted the 2005 list as well. There is only one possible vehicle for sale--I am waiting for a call back. I was unable to determine if the GT listed for Greenway Ford (Orlando, FL) was still available--the salesperson I spoke to never really could figure out what car I was looking for.

Actually, in my endeavor to locate a GT I am amazed at how little knowledge the sales people actually have about the "pace car" of their company. One salesperson kept insisting I was looking for a Mustang GT, or maybe the Shelby Mustang. Even when I explained the vehicle I am looking for was north of $160k it still did not ring a bell.
