It was great to see such a display from Ford of Britain. The interest in the GT was huge. We've had fabulous weather and Ford supplied us with a superb setting to view the new car and meet up with lots of customers and '05 GT owners too.
Those are the Euro rear fog and reverse lights -all 101 cars have those. We had to do that as the backup lights are swapped to be amber turn indicators and you guys don't fit rear fog lamps (never understood that - why have front fogs - which do next to nothing - and no rear fog lamp?)
The diffuser suffered badly after the car was repeatedly jumped at the Cholmondley Pageant of Power a year ago which also cracked the transmission case. I'd have preferred to have seen a new undertray too....
The new blue GT is the same (running) show car we saw at Geneva. The white '05 car belongs to the Ford of Britain heritage fleet, as does the red MkIII GT40 road car, which was Walter Hayes' company car back in the day....
It was like a tiered arrangement showing the performance ladder - ST then RS then GT (with Mustang in there too) it was quite a statement piece. Not the biggest stand (that was probably Audi - huge) but one of the tallest and it really stood out in blue. There were even tube slides down from the top floor. It showed real flair which was good to see.
