Ok fellow Ford GT forum members, I really respect your opinions. I went with a friend today to pick up his 2007 Porsche Turbo(I had a 2003 for a while) and I saw a 2006 Pearl Yellow Lamborghini Murcielago. They had one slightly used (800 miles) and a brand spanking new one . The car was an absolute beast.

Before I go crazy and spend that much money (that is a boatload of money no matter what anyone's means are) and before I have to explain to the wife I am not crazy and then figure out where to store it. I want to know what the opinons are of that car. I searched the lambo forums but I did not get alot of info on the bad parts of the vehicle...is it a lot of maintenace? will it always be in the shop etc. I know we have some Lambo owners on the baord so maybe you guys can help me out.

From what I understand, 06 and newer are the way to go! :thumbsup

In researching cars to purchase I came across this webpage from a former Murcielago owner. Admittedly he may have an axe to grind, but I found it an interesting read nontheless. I should note that I have a friend with a Gallardo SE who absolutely loves his car and swears by their quality. Good luck with the research.

I had 3 Lambos and they are great cars. How much under sticker will they sell you the Lambo? Also is it a E-gear or six speed? Six speed is very hard to re-sell. My ferrari dealership has had a 06 Murci Roadster with under 1000 miles for almost 6 months. If it was a E-Gear it would of been sold a long time ago.

You can always get a new coupe under sticker. How much depends on the dealership. In LA there is alot of Murcis so pricing is driven down.

The new Murci will be out shortly and has 640hp and alot of new stuff. If you have to pay sticker then get the new LP640 Murci. If the are giving you alot of sticker then it could be worth it.

I've been watching the Murci's for a while...the one thing I noticed is during the first 2 years you seem to take about 100K hit on the value...I don't see many dropping below 200.

Just depends on what you want but there seem to be alot! of low mile used ones out there....and yes the 06' model is suppost to be absolutely wonderful.

Hoping that drops the older ones a notch and I can get a good deal on a lime green soon :)

Last Lambo I owned was a Countach but from what I read the LP640 is the way to go. Audi has done a lot for quality control so I would expect reliability to be decent. But the Porsche Turbo is something you can take to work every day and sit in traffic without being hassled. Not sure the same can be said for the Lambo.

Save a lot of money and get Turbo Joe's setup, or the less radical 900HP pump gas tune. Did you ride in that car? It is by far the fastest street car I have ever seen. Joe told me he has put 5,000 miles on it with no major problems. Lambo no problem, Enzo, whatever, S7 not quick enough.

I believe people have made the comments that the clutches are notorious for going bad at as little as 5K miles and a major expense to replace.

I was seriously looking into a Lambo but discovered that they are poor mechanically. Interesting if you noticed in Magazine comparisons that often time they don't show up or they break down during testing. The e-gear is a poorly engineered item. I have personally never owned one but it also seems in reviews by owners they usually have an axe to grind. Then again those are the people who tend to be most vocal.

Had a Pearl Orange Murci 6spd for 4 months. Put a whopping 700 miles on it. The car had no "soul". Went back to the Diablos after that.

If you are deciding based on "investment" reasons I would pass on the Lambo. If you are deciding because it is a "deal" I would pass based on what the other people on this forum have said. If you just "want it" and can afford it then "screw it and just do it" as Richard Branson says :cheers
