My New Vette

Since you aren't the only person from whom I've heard that same story, I'm begining to wonder just why that's the case. For instance, is it that: (1) there's a real underlying need to clear an inventory that's accumulating for some reason, or, (2) is the upcoming C-7 so 'bodacious' that GM's afraid they're going to be forced to discount the C-6s even MORE to clear 'em out after the C-7 debut?

To quote G.W.: "I be thinkin' about stuff like that."

Regardless of either, 'sounds like a darn good time for anyone who likes the C-6s to pick one up!

Pondering Pockets

I would say neither. There are Top 3 Delaers in USA that sell like 300-500-700 Vettes per year. For these guys, they dont waste time with MSRP dwadling; they go right to invoice and will go down depending on your negotiating skill to even below dealer cost, then they will make sure you collect/stack every discount known to man (GM Card, USAA, GM Dealer cash $1500-3000+, etc) , and just collect the $1500-2500 hold back paid by OEM. Though vast majority of folks are happy at invoice so double that margin. And NO bs fees (doc, prep, dmv, etc.) I got a 20 day paper plate, that cost something, and was never added.

However, they execute flawlessly and know this will win ALL your future business. He has got my ZR1 order and any GM work truck or SUV order by me, family or others I will steer hard his way.

These guys are real car guys and will practically frame your window sticker and give you all the factory build-sheet goodies, leather handbooks, etc. One booklet was missing and its in fed ex already.

They are selling a mass-produced sports car, with exotic/$100K level service. Most also have a big parts business or commercial truck business, so the Vette business is all updside.

Aaaaaaaaaaah! So there's a lot of 'fine print' at work in a deal like this then. 'Shudda known. (I don't think all that applied to 3 of the guys I know who bought theirs on the cheap though. I'd have to call 'em and see. I don't even know where they bought their cars except for the fact it was out of state in each case.)

Regardless, Oh, Deal Maker, you've just been hired as my 'negotiator' on a C-7 'vert if it turns out the new design 'rings my chimes'! What's your 'fee'???! :biggrin :thumbsup:thumbsup

Maybe a poster at your next race/rally
