My GT caught fire!

Right Stefan, the perfect excuse for bumper removal... :biggrin

final resolution

Ford has stepped up and is repairing the rear bumper, in the interest of good will. :cheers They're surprised that it happened as the fuel should have been shut off with the ignition. They will check it out and see if the excess fuel was due to a rich condition while running hard. At any, rate they agreed that a new car shouldn't catch fire when cyling the key while running. I have been dealing with the dealer I purchased it through, Pearson Ford in San Diego, and they are treating me very well. Much better than my bank. (Maybe I need a new bank?)

I had planned on stowing a fire extinguisher in the GT but cannot find an accessible spot that does not intrude. After viewing Craig's photo I've decided to pack some marshmellows instead!

The factory tune is very rich...pig rich on some cars. A good reason to have a custom dyno tune, not to mention the extra 40-50 horsepower a custom tune will typically provide.

Was Loraina Bobbett riding shotgun with you? :eek
