Ya! When she said the "S" word - didja notice how she FROZE like she immediately realized the hidden TRUTH of what she'd just said?!!! Not only did SHE freeze, but everyone else in the room did too! Ya kudda heard a pin drop! PRICELESS!!!!!!!!

Don't know what her pblm was from HER standpoint, though, regarding her saying it. After all, when you get right down to brass tacks - socialism, nationalization, what's the diff?

In the 80's and 90's I was involved with a L. A. based business where many of our clients were municipalities across the U.S. One was the county of Los Angeles and we got into position to do a deal in her jurisdiction....talk about a "what's in it for me" manipulator, "take care of my family members by making them your partners", "this is how it's going to be if you want to do business in MY town", "why should I do business with whites?", policitian. Man, it was a real eye opener on how black, liberal politics work in Los Angeles.

maybe we should pay politicians the same wage that enlisted military gets paid. Start them out as a private (e-1) and they go up from there in service. Make government service just that .... service.

How many rags to riches stories are out there in US politics? And why is Hillary able to loan 20m to her campaign when she didn't work for 8 years while Bill was in the white house and since then she has not made that much?

It seems that politicians are incredible at making investments of their own funds but horrendous at investing the taxpayers.

Isn't it part of the Black Liberian Theology goal's as stated by Dr. Cones and Rev. Write to promote Black businesses. We should ask Obama, his family has sat in Rev. Wright's pews for more than 20 years! Remember it is OK to discriminate against white straight men under 40. I remember when Spike Lee was making a movie in SF he said he wanted to hire only companies owned by blacks to make his movie. If a white man said I want to hire only white run companies they would be in deep sh-t.

To elaberate on your, "if a white guy did this", point: How 'bout the NAAWP! Or the United WHITE College Fund". Or Miss WHITE America? Or the Congressional WHITE Caucus? Or the WET TV network? Or, just what would happen if a WHITE politician even so much as STUCK HIS HEAD INSIDE an "all white" church that pushed a white agenda and gave a "good guy" award to David Duke?

Pockets you aren't being open minded. You should show some compassion for those that have been wronged. Take Obama as a great example to follow. He has sat in the pews listening to this stuff for 20+ years. He believed that the teachings of the Trinity Church were also good for his children, giving them a broad accurate perspective of American society. Now his has a good chance to lead our nation as President with wide support for both minorities and a large number of those in majority.

I'd like 2C speculators put up 50% of their "bids" IN CASH as well. AND require those people TO ACTUALLY TAKE DELIVERY OF THE OIL THEY "BID" ON! What a concept!

Only thing Newt & I pbly might not see eye to eye on is using CLEAN BURN COAL to generate power, convert to vehicle fuel, etc. After all, we have more coal here than there is anywhere else in the world. So, for some to say, "Oh, No! No! No! We can't USE it because of global warming blah, blah, blah", is just ridiculous. THAT's as bad as saying we can't DRILL FOR OIL anywhere in this country. (Regardless, I'd prefer to use coal and 'meebe' cough a little bit than go nuke and glow in the dark. But, 'mebbe' that's just me.) (And pls don't gimme the ol' argument, "nuke tech is MUCH safer now", etc. WE'D STILL HAVE THE NUKE WASTE. One word: HANFORD. Four more words, Chernobyl...Three Mile Island)

Regardless, as I stated a couple months back on some thread or another 'round here, I think OPEC, et al, have finally shot themselves in BOTH feet. Their die is cast. Alternative fuels/power sources WILL be the big thing now. I just cannot see "the powers that be" - OR CONSUMERS - lessoning the pressure to develope 'same. THIS TIME even the dullest amongst us understands what's at stake if we don't get with the program here...
 
You guys are all up tight for nothin!!! I am the kinds guy that thinks out of the box. Soooo here is my solution...................

To boycott oil companies or not; to provide amnesty to illegal immigrants or not, etc. Since I have become jaded to the various solutions proposed by the Republicans, Democrats, Right Wing Talk Radio, Sierra Club, Fox News, ACLU, etc., I have elected to solve the problems as they affect me. It solves both my gas and illegal immigrant problems.

I have hired illegal immigrants to push my car. They're plentiful and cheaper than buying gas. Then I pay them in pesos so they have to go home to spend it. I love it when a plan comes together.:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin
