Only 138 miles on the clock. High bid topped out at $275K. Went to "bid goes on". A 1967 GT500 Super Snake, one of a kind, brought $2.2 million. Lots of stupid money this year bringing eye watering prices.

The economy is good. Feels like 2006 & 2007 all over again.

Auction week in AZ looks fantastic.

Big numbers. Have seen these in the last number of auctions. Scottsdale outta be great... GTX1, several Heritage cars and a handful of 05-06 and the 2019 NFGT Heritage.

Acompanied by numerous other Ford’s including several Eleanors!

Funny thing about the blue 1,500 mile Ford GT. It was a reserve car and the reserve was lifted when the bid hit $225K. Sold at $320K plus commission. While on display the engine bay was never open. Appeared that the front hood may have been removed at one time for whatever reason.

The GT40 roadster which is owned by Dana Mecum was bid up to $10 million and he wouldn't sell it. He said afterwards "I really didn't want to sell it anyway". That would have been $11 million in his pocket with the buyers premium.

So a charade, What a waste of everyone's time.

Why was GTX1 "only" $315k?

It’s advertisement..... it draws bidders out and me makes MILLIONS on all the other cars... he also received lots of free press and advertising in the preceding weeks from the media....

A win win for him.....

That may be, but only a douche makes a statement like "oh, I didn't want to sell it anyway," particular at an auction he runs.

No doubt... comments like that could/should warrant more explicit adjectives....

"Look at me, look at me, look at me" Look what I have and you don't! I stood behind him on the first 2017 GT sale explanation but this is just being a dual turbo charged douche!

I guess when you know the reserve, it´s pretty easy to create a fantasy high bid history .....

^ This.

So I'm at a car event near Tampa today, about an hour from Kissimmee. A guy asks a question about my GT...it may have been simply "This your GT?", which as often happens is just a way for him to start talking about himself. He says he "manages Mecum's collection," and shows me a bunch of photos on his phone.

We get into the auction and I unload on him a bit. He says "Dana thinks the car is worth $12 million." I say $10 million + fee is not close enough to what Dana thinks? He shrugs.

Just because it was "bid" to $10 million on the board does not mean there was an actual floor or phone bid at that level. It is common practice at these auctions for the auctioneer to run up the price with phantom or "chandelier" bids. There very well may have been nothing close to that kind of money actually bid on the GT. IMO, that was the most likely scenario.

So, under 200 miles on the red car? I think people get "Happy" at the two main auctions, its like manhood coming out in full force, nobody wants to be beat, even if they just want that satisfaction!

Lets move to eBay.....Are any cars actually selling there????

There is a "K" in the VIN!

If that ^^^^ is for sale, throw it up on all the performance Ford forums like SAAC, VMF and the B2 forums before you consign it.

Mustang guys will know how rare that is. Looks nice too.
