I know several of you have a MAC radio removal tool. Could someone be kind enough to snap a picture of the tool lying on top of or adjacent to a tape measure or ruler?

Someone did this with the Sanyo tool and it took me all of 5 minutes to fab a pair up that worked perfectly. I figure I can do the same with the MAC tool if I can get a picture and rough idea of the shape of the cut-outs.

Thanks in advance.

Kendall, there's a picture (not to scale) in the Service Manual. It consists of two (R/L) release tools and a small L-shaped piece to remove the two silver side covers. Getting the two side covers off is the big pain in the arss. Mine had actually been superglued on (the metal side pieces have two black plastic pieces glued on) and the glue overran the mounting. There are some pictures here in the files, but probably not with a ruler. The release tools are very flimsy sheet metal and bend very easily.

I own a metal fab business, and have ordered the tools and pulled my mac. I was also going to make some of these up, it would cost 10x the $10 price if you try to make them and doubt very much they could be made from a picture, even to scale. If you need a set and can't get them, i'll loan you mine.

Hey Tony,

It wasn't the money - I just assumed they were similar to the Sanyo radio which took just a couple of minutes to fab. So where did you purchase them from? I'll do the same.
