Le Mans Stripes

Is there an acceptable standard for Le Mans stripes on a super car? Any certain width, any certain angle, any certain placement over the front wheel? Is both sides acceptable? Should they go only on the front fender only or can they extend onto the hood? Seen it all but am looking for a consensus for proper application. Let me know.

I believe they are left front fender only, from the lip to the hood line. Contrasting color to car, so probably black lije your other stripes.

The fender stripes are pit or team stripes. I've always thought Le Mans stripes were the over-the-top stripes like the ones on our cars. The fender stripes are on the side of pit lane to help the pit crew distinguish similar cars. Most I've seen originate above the wheel and go forward at about a 35 degree (?) angle. They terminate at the top of the fender.

Having said all that, there are always exceptions:

That's a great photo. Yes,.. The over the hood, roof and back stripes are the Le Mans stripes,..just like they are seen and referenced as far back as on the 65 GT350 cars.
