Chip Beck at LeMans.

Gentlemen,

You have got to be kidding me!! This is not what I expected. And I expected a lot. This is over the top incredible. They treat us like we own the whole team! :cheers We have unlimited fine food & liquor, unlimited access to the cars, pits, drivers, and a hospitality suite that blows me away. Team owner Martin Bartek spent the better part of an hour giving us a personal tour of the whole operation and the cars. He is pictured with me below. He handed me a car door with our Ford GT Forum logo on it and the whole door only weighs about 10 lbs!!

I walked up and down pit row and checked out all the cars. I stood on the track in front of the pits and I could almost hear the GT40s leaving the line on that spot 44 years ago. I can't put into words how cool this is. I have been issued a computer by Matech to keep the Forum up to date. I'll do my best. Cheers from LeMans! :cheers

Chip

+1

Thank you for sharing.

Too bad the numbers cant be 66 & 67.

WOW WOW WOW... I'm so regretting not going....

For Frank.

Gentlemen,

The lightweight components of these Matech cars are hard to truely appreciate until you pick them up. Especially the drivers! :biggrin Below I am conducting an unofficial weigh in of Matech driver Cyndie Allemann. Notice that Natache Gachnang still walks with a cane, and Rahel Frey is the blond. When Cyndie was posing for the photo below Steven was kind enough to point out that she is not included in our sponsorship!!

Keep rubbing it in. At least I got to see my name. Have one for me.:cheers

So is that door going to be auctioned off or are they making one for every sponsor. :biggrin

At 10 LBs they cant cost that much, can they? :willy

Traditionally, I seem to recall that the "weigh-in" process was done in a hands-off mannor, with electronic scales. :biggrin Talk about special treatment !!

Damn, I wish I was there....

Make sure you get a picture of the 'old' clock on the main straight, if it is still around/being used - great piece of the 24 hours race history.

Thank you for the update and the pictures Chip

Standing by for more
