Just finished two month garage project

My wife let me turn a front porch we never use into a storage area so I fixed up the garage a bit. Not the garage Ma-hall, but it makes me happy. The 67 Mustang in the mural is my first car I ever bought when I was in high school. Car was six years old back then with 390 4spd, red interior. 69 GT500 was my Dad's, wish he and the car were still with me. Most of the other cars are one's I've owned, still do, or certainly wanted to.DSC00329.jpgDSC00330.jpgDSC00332.jpg

Thats very cool and a very unique idea. Awesome.

Looks great! You need to add a 2014 GT500 to the mural :)

The 67 Mustang was my dream car as a kid too. Got one in '70. Still have one but not the same one. Also had a 69 Mach 1 428 that I wish I had for the money.

Very nice. Congrats

Looks great!!

Cool looking garage!! Nice cars in there too!

Here is a close up of the floor and one more shot of cars. The floor was really fun because the guy had never done red white and blue floor before. I came up with the idea because all his floor samples looked really nice (commercial looking) but slightly boring. Turned out easy as all he had to do was do a white floor and then add the red and blue flecks which he had in stock. The floor was quite a process. After I chipped up all the 40 year old vinyl tile and disposed of it, they came in with a $10,000 diamond grinder to smooth it out. That wouldn't even take off all the old glue from tiles and they ended up two guys hand grinding most of the floor. Then comes a really good sealer coat, then the base epoxy coat and color flecks, then a super hard clear urethane top coat.

I had a local artist that had done some work in the house before due the mural. She is really talented and reasonable. I've got her coming over for a day next week to refine fore ground a bit, and maybe add our motor home on the sidelines. If you can imagine it, she can paint it.

Whole thing has only been done for a few days, and my wife really likes it too. We are planning to sit out there before dinner and have a little celebration martini. Got it all climate controlled and insulated now too.

Thanks for all the comments.

John, thanks, I took the dimensions for the stripes on the fridge off of my 2011 SVT GT500, so I guess I have an SVT Beer fridge. Better looking than the black rusty thing it once was!

Of course the Cobra is real. It is a real 2001 Superformance Cobra. Seemed pretty real the last time I drove it anyway :lol

Exciting, but the beer needs ice.

No worries, fridge is full and ice cold!

Couple closer shots of art work. She bent the 67 mustang around a door frame and it looks good from any angle. Amazing talent. The BMW Z8 is painted right over the side door glass window. She primed the glass with something first. Just looks white from the outside.
