Just got them, they arrived early this morning and as such I didnt have time to take any pic, they will go on the car this weekend and will dyno soon after, I currently have the ford long tubes and....well..... they have been pretty dissapointing, my car made less power on the dyno with the long tubes than it did with the manifold and catback.:willy I couldnt believe it. so off with the ford and let see if Mr Jay Bittle has a better idea, so I volunteer myself and the exhaust guiny pig.:banana

anyone else have the Jba setup?

See if you can do a sound clip of each - I imagine probably not much different, but would like to know if there is a different "tone" or if they sound the same.

Dyno difference will be interesting. Do the JBA have cats or cat delete?

Is it complete, or running into someone else's X pipe or muffler?

its got little race cats on the mid pipe, I will be running my own x-pipe, that I had fabricated at fast-lane last year, its still sitting in my garage, however JBA is also coming out with a muffler set up and looks pretty cool, its too big if you ask me but looks good. I believe there may be a picture of it on their site,

I would imagine there would be a big difference in sound as the headers are not as long as the ford set up and Im running the ford with out cats and factory muffler but the jba's will have race cats on them with an x pipe. I will get a sound clip for comparison. I had the ford with the x pipes too but it was embarassingly loud, I have tried many different setups but none to my liking so far, I hope the Jba's will solve that problem. doubt it though:biggrin

Great.

I would like to end up with a deeper sound than with the X pipe, but not go for the screaming loud of the FRPP. It may require a muffler of some form.

I had actually talked with magna-flow about how to pull the sound deeper, and it does seem to take a muffler with some size (length).

I keep thinking there should be a way to coss over two bullet style mufflers where the stock was. Also wonder if seperating them (versus X style) may improve sound.

well after 10 hours and four busted knuckles theyre on the car, It sounds a bit louder than manifolds with catback but not much. the installation was a breeze compared to the ford long tubes, but a pain non the less.

How much for those CATs? I want the pipe off them.

:confused what do you mean "the pipe off them" ? the cats were about 800 bucks

i run JBA shorty headers with the firecone collector on my Ford Lightning and my V-10 Ford Superduty. they are awesome and have no leaks (i did use stage 8 header locking bolts). mine have the sterling coating both on the inside and the outside. they sound sweet.

I (and doubtless others) will be interested to hear what they do on the dyno.

im going to dyno the car soon, will post my results.

Headers look beautiful.

Typically, an exhaust system on a supercharged vehicles is not as important for performance as it woud be on a turbo or n/a vehicle.

respectfully disagree, maybe on a ford gt this is true, but I have number of friend with shelby gt500's and thier results would suggest otherwise, typically they pick up 40-50 hp and tq across the board on the dyno with a set of headers and race style cats. that was the reason I got the ford headers in the first place, being that our engines are simillar to the gt500s I thought I would see simillar results, but it has not been the case, hopefully the jba will change that, I will find out tonight.

Good Luck!!!!:thumbsup

well just got back from the dyno, me and doctorv8 took both cars to get dyno'd. he went first and after a few changes his car made 7-- in hp and tq, I will let him disclose if he wants, unfortunately his dyno runs took so long that we didnt have time to dyno my car:thumbsdow

however, on the way back home I found out how much power my car is "not making". :biggrin
