I wonder why they are fiddling with extra sound padding. The GT has active noise cancelation (at least that's what the plaquette said at the presentation of the no. 1 car). Possibly they are not fitting the system to customer cars? I experimented with a noise cancelation system from Sennheiser in aviation and no pilot liked it. It's a bit like hearing noises while being under water.
