Intercooler coolant loop question

Might be a dumb question, but what circulates the coolant in the intercooler loop? Is it forced circulation?

After driving the car last night for about 45 minutes I put my hand on the engine coolant tank and of course it was hot to the touch. The intercooler tank was cool to the touch, so I am just wondering if the intercooler coolant in mine is circulating properly (the level appears to be just right in the tank). Ambient temp was about 70 and I was driving with enough speed to presumably get some cool air through the intake tract, and I was not on the boost so to speak on the last part of the drive. When making boost I am certain that intercooler temps go up pretty dramatically, but when taking it easy, do intercooler temps go down dramatically, especially in moderate ambient conditions? Thanks for any info.

I believe there is an electric pump at the front end of the car that circulates the fluid. I would quess that it is thermostatically controlled.

Intercooler pump

There is an intercooler pump I believe located in the front passenger side area which circulates the coolant between engine and heat exchanger. Almost certain it is electric and do not know if it is activated when the engine is running or controlled by a thermostat. If memory serves I saw them installing the units at the Saleen facility and it is about the size of your fist.
Pretty amazing the front of our car houses three independent heat exchangers and then for those who have installed the transaxle cooler a fourth located in the rear!

The intercooler pump is located in the passenger side of the trunk and it is electric i have come across one that was unplugged. Something you might want to check?
