I ordered the Floor Mats through Andrew Revai who started the thread "GT Floor Mats have been finally resolved" here on the forum. I ordered two sets and they are of excellent quality.

Approximately one month later, I get an invoice from UPS in the amount of $35.30. I called to inquire and they tell me its for customs as the mats were shipped from Canada. I responded by telling them to call the shipper and collect from him. They surprisingly resopnded as follows; "Sorry sir, we've created a temporary account for you and since you had pre-paid and according to US/Canada import/export laws you are responsible. further more, if you do not pay the due amount, we'll send this to collections and it may reflect negatively on your credit".

I've been trying my best to call Andrew Revai and he does not have v/mail and does not pick up the phone.

Has this happened to any of you guys?

Ahhhhhhhahahah! LOL!

I ship Art to Canada and Europe all the time. What customs will do is see what the insurance value is on the package then place a tariff based on that amount. Usually the person that recieves the package gets the tax.

The real issue and risk is when an unknown comes to a forum for shear profit.
It is one thing when a member develops something for our cars, another when a reliable sponsor offers something, and then those who drop in for the all mighty $$$. I personally am feel very used when car dealers (selling over msrp) that drop buy simply because they know that active FGT owners populate this place. I have chased away a few,.... bad Bony:willy :eek :willy

Then its Canada trying to collect the $35 tax? On EXPORTS too? They collect on both imports and exports??

Was this from BALFAS? screen name?

I haven't had any problems yet.

I like the mats, if we are talking about the same vendor.

I've never had this problem when items are sent to me we always mark the package "artist proofs, O value", so I'm not sure who's ding'n you on these mats. When I ship out it's always the country that the end user is located in that's collecting the tariff. So it wouldn't surprise me if it's Uncle Sam that has his hand in your pocket.

Sounds like a good idea to avoid these mats from Canada.

I and many other FGT pilots have bought the Lloyd mats, custom cut for the FGT. They are available with numerous Ford, GT and other logo's. They fit perfectly and install right over the OEM rubber mats for a clean appearance.

BTW, I have no financial or other stake in Lloyd mats ... just think they're very nice. usmcfred

I had the same problem with two sets ordered, got a bill from ups for 60.00 and was told the same thing. andrew finally refunded 30.00 of it. if he continues to put a high price on them we will have the same problem. i told him to mark them as "gift" to cure the problem. he did not tell me he was in canada or i would have had second thoughts.
