I gave it up 2 weeks ago!

Well, today is the first day I have actually noticed a difference in my gut.
That gives me more inspiration!:banana

Inspiration: 100# = 1 tenth in the 1/4 mile and doesn't cost anything

I gave up soda when I discovered Nesquik :)

Well, it's been 6 weeks!:banana :banana
The funny thing is that I have not really been tempted or anything.
My son asked for half a coke, and I was left there holding a nice, cold coke in my hand........and I threw it out.:cheers
My wife says I lost about 350 pounds, but I don't see it.:lol

Dammit! Can someone get these damn Tootsie roll pops out of my office!:lol

Haven't had a soda since 1984. Not one. Don't miss it at all, never. Once you get beyond a few months you never look back. That crap made me feel shit, and my old football coach was right in 1968. Way to go man, getting healthier is always a good thing. I would like all you guys live to be 115. :thumbsup

Same here. I just moved off to college this semester. Since I've seen how staying in shape helps you focus mentally and get better sleep, I made sure to get to the gym and see a personal trainer. No sweets, no caffeine, no fried foods, no fast food. I don't even want them anymore because I think about how they don't really fill me up very long, and how much time it takes to work them off at the gym. Not worth it IMO. After 2 weeks I can tell my concentration has improved a LOT. I can read boring text books longer than before, and remember most of it :willy

Once you make up your mind, simple changes in your diet can help loose lots of weight, and most of those changes are foods (like sugars) that never really fill you up for a long period of time anyways.

I make myself a deal. If I want a soda, I drink 2 glasses of water first. If I still want one, I get it. Same with snacks, eat an apple before I get the snack. Normally I decide I'm fine and don't want the soda/snack.

Ge whiz, in my many days in college, we relied on cigarettes, coffee and white cross. Be as healthy as you want, but if you've inherited bad genes, you can't fight genetics.

Yes you can with organ transplants and now gene therapy! I should know, my son has bad genes, but is not fixed via a bone marrow transplant. You don't want to accelerate your genetic propensity to decline with bad habits.

I'm just doing my best with what I was given :ack
