This may have been asked on the forum, but at this point, how long have you owned your GT, and how many miles are on it?

I have owned mine for ten weeks and it has 1,500 miles.

Thanks in advance for any input.

<3 months and 700 miles. I'll probably accumulate ~ 2,500 miles/year.

Not bad going Roger! One year (almost exactly) and 5,000 miles (almost exactly).

Six months, 1,500 miles. I will not "just" drive it anywhere. Parking, leaving it unattended for long periods of time, chance of thunderstorms (hail), being out of town, etc. limit miles driven.

14months and 2200mi. and lots of fun.

5 months and 3300 miles. Going into hibernation next week...

4 Months and 400 miles. Need more spare time :lol

Breaking mine in slowly! 4.5 months with 835 miles on it and no high RPM's or high speed driving as per R Titus my bud, until 1000 miles. I'm still able to enjoy my GT :thumbsup . Tomy Hamon

5 months and 1900 fabulous, wonderful miles!

3 months and 100 miles; sub 4k RPMs.

Love every drive; all 5 of them - all on Sunday.

Need to move out of NY City!

I Drive it

Bought my GT 9/6/06 and just turned 3000 miles.

I have 5 cars but I just can't stop driving the GT.

I read in earlier posts that this was not necessary for the newer cars :willy

Lot's of thoughts on that subject GTNJ. I've always run my new cars in gently for the first 1,000 miles - not driven it like grandma, but not redlined it in every gear either!

There was a very interesting and informative post a few weeks back that suggested driving it very hard to bed in the engine components was better than being gentle....

Who knows for sure?! I've had a few exotic and expensive machines over the years and have always been gentle with them to kick off with - the cars have been as quick as any other identical model, oil tight, no rattles etc.

Also, I'm afraid I just don't have the balls to sit in a brand new $350,000 Lamborghini and mash the throttle.... The same applies to the GT for which I have far more affection than any other car.

Ditto. I always drive easy for 500 miles, increase my rpm limit every hundred there after, then let it go after 1000 with any new car. Maybe that's being overly cautious, but it's not a big deal to me to wait a couple weeks to get on it...

9000 miles in 11 mos.

8 months, 1500 miles. Car has never been left outside overnight, and I don't take it anywhere that I won't have a protected parking space. I have plenty of space on my Ford Expedition for the door dings. I don't even need to drive the car to enjoy it. I look at it as I'm getting into something else to go to the office and it makes me feel good. Whoahhhh!

7 Months, 1400 miles, 695 waves, 1572 thumbs up, and 846 screams! :biggrin
