GT40s At Amelia Island

Thanks - :thumbsup

Holy cow guys. Those pictures just blow me away. Wow.
That must have been phenomenal to see all those GT 40s together.
The only car that makes my heart race is the Muira and they were there too?!??!

It was really incredible. The Miura is stunning. I didn't even know the targa Miura existed.

This was awesome. Thank you. Yes the Miura is the car where I think the real passion for GTs starts from. I had a few models as a kid. Miura is the best car of all. There are a few good vids on UTube

Great photos, Sinovac. I was there and it was a memorable day. Marty, how did I miss you? BTW, was I the ONLY Forum guy who showed up at the Mercedes Pavilion at noon? I went around yelling, "Any Ford GT owners here?" Everyone thought I was crazy.

Sorry Howard and others. My day got screwed up as well. Did not get to property till11:30. Great event...best yet. Met many other owners at cars and coffee on sat.

Thanks for the awesome pictures etc.....

Positively stunning! Thank you for sharing.

What a great experience it must have been. And such a beautiful day.

Bundle of snakes was awesome.

With a little Photoshopping, a lot of the pictures might be material for next year's Calendar. Perhaps paired with appropriate shots of some of our contemporary beauties?

I believe the orange Miura was at the Boca Raton Concours on February 24th. STORMCAT and I met up there and had a great day. The Miura was a beautiful car, very well displayed by an enthusiastic and justifiably proud owner. Not much of note in contemporary Fords at that show.

This gallery of awesome pics was posted on another forum Ed and I are on. Really great stuff. http://www.supercars.net/gallery/119513/2952/1.html

Great link. Thank you. I am more motivated than ever to get a Mark I replica.

Thanks. Great link. Awesome collection of cars!

Anyone know if any of the cars at Amellia will be entered at Goodwood this summer? Other than being around back in the day for the real thing, I can't imagine a better event to attend for GT40/Ford GT lovers...

Believe this is 1051 at Amelia. Wonder which X pipe it has?

Man, they weren't shy about beating on those beautiful pieces of history.

Great videos Luke. The 2013 Goodwood Revival will feature a GT40 only race.

Interesting that the #40 GT40 is in Gulf colors. It still features the twin gas caps. Only one cap was allowed on LeMans cars, (the Mirage has only one, as does the other 68-69 GT40s with rounded #s 6 & 7). The #40 car must've been painted to match the LeMans Gulf cars, or was converted back to twin gas fillers.

BTW, how cool would it be if someone modded a current GT to a Mirage roofline? Don't know if it would work as the seats in the Mirage are nearly touching, but man, would it be cool.

Nothing sounds like those V8s...
