Gt Guys Coming To Dallas

Sorry I missed you guys for lunch. My schedule got kind of tight at the last minute. I did manage to swing by the shop and meet the GT guys though. Nice guys.

I was talking to them about my lowering kit and they suggested we take a picture of it next to Rick's GT after installation to exhibit the difference. If we get it done I will post it here.

Has anyone gotten their GT back yet?

I'm scheduled in there on Tuesday morning :banana ... at 8:00 AM :confused ...
can anybody help out with exact directions to Ric's dealership.

Fubar you better make your number public after this deal....you may have some new customers :)

Its funny we went by there last night with Alan who was coming up to see what they were doing and we all just wanted to visit for a while.

Sad there is a new GT500 sitting in the back lot that Ric said was sold to a guy for $25 over and he gave it to his 16 year old son...passenger wheel has been pushed back probably 10 inches.

Anyway...Alan went for a ride with GTx's friend who just had the pulley, tune and exhaust...and all he said when he came back was...ADD THE PULLEY TO MINE NOW!!!!!!

Matt

That's awesome news. I pick mine up later today. I think mine had about 500 miles left on the factory tires.... I guess I can cut that down to 250 now.

Mardyn, here is a map to Rick's place. The GT's Guys can hook you up with plenty of trouble.

Here is a link to my place when you need to get out of trouble.

The GT Guys just finished my car and Holy Sh**! :eek What a huge improvement. :banana Hold on tight because it is a real handful. The GT Guys are true professionals and great guys in general - you can't do better IMHO! Matt, Rob, Rocksman, Mark, Keith, and Dean it was a pleasure to meet you. Fred and Sherry it was great to see you again. Thank you to Rick Middlekauf for hosting the GT Guys. :cheers

Just wanted to say the the GT Guys are real professionals. They worked safely, cleanly, and quickly to get everything perfect on my car. What a huge improvement! I am very happy with their work! Was quite a drive to get to Dallas but was well worth it! :cheers

Was also very nice meeting a few other GT owners and going out for lunch, thanks guys!

Nothing but love for the GT Guys. They babied our babies like new born babies... uh you know.

My first day opinions about the changes:
  • 2.7 Heffner pulley and tune: It wasn't the blinding power that I have heard about but it was a definite improvement. I personally think every GT should have that done. Its a cheap easy way to make that engine perform a little closer to it's capability.
  • Lowering Kit: The car feels a little stiffer. I am still getting used to it. I have the front down 1" and the rear down 3/4". I haven't scraped anything yet. When I drove it out of the shop I didn't like it, but I think I was hyper-sensitive. I like the ride now. I just need to push it thru some turns to get a real idea of it's effect. -See pic's of the difference in appearance.
  • Bolt Kit: This is a MUST just for peace of mind!!

Thanks GT Guys

Rich and Denis, the car ran great [and faster of course] on the trip back home. Job Well Done. Thanks!!

Returned last night from Dallas and the GT Guy ‘MARATHON’. These guys are the ABSOLUTE BEST, just can’t say enough good praises on their behalf. All went well, and they found and corrected a number of items in addition to what was scheduled to be done.

Was good to see other GT owners while in Dallas and get to go to lunch on Saturday.

Then there was diner with DBTGT from Tulsa that night, lost track of the number of beers. Dave we had a great evening.

Mrs. Spirit hung in there for the entire ordeal [drive up and back, lunch, dinner, hanging out at Ric Middlekauff's place for two full days] she’s a ‘trooper’.

What can I say; we had a great time with great people.

Now for more GT FUN !!!

Man, Sunday was a beautiful day in Texas. The leaves were more colorful than I've seen them in years, the temperature was in the 60's, the sky was crystal clear and the GT Guys were in town! My wife and I had a gorgeous 150 mile drive to Dallas at anywhere from 85 to 100 MPH (the car averaged over 22 MPG by the way) and the short shifter was even better than I had hoped. There was no noticeable difference in lever effort but there is a much improved feel and shorter throw. It seems to fall into the next gear in a much more positive way. Rich and Denis took out the rubber bushings and it made it feel more solid without adding any vibration.

They knocked the job out in exactly one hour and did a very professional job. They obviously know their way around this car.

I also enjoyed meeting dbtgt and Spirit and I think we talked Rick Middlekauf into joining us on the forum.

All in all it was a very enjoyable day. :cheers
