New to the forum and I just wanted to say hi!

Congratulations to all Ford GT owners! This car is everything the lineage dictates it should be. For me the Ford GT evokes a visceral reaction approached by only some Ferrari's, it just screams "I'm up to something!"

Whatever the new Corvette ZR-1 brings to the table (200+ MPH top speed) the Ford GT was the FIRST American production car to break 200. Not to bash the Corvette, because it's an outstanding car in it's own right, but no amount of plexiglass or "Punisher" comic book symbols can match the "cool factor" of looking through the rear window of a GT and seeing the supercharger on top of a really hot 5.4 4V.

Okay... why I love Ford...

V8's!
289 Cobras scaring Ferrari into a shortened racing season!
427 Cobra's!
Ford GT-40's!
The 1970 351C 4V Mach 1 Mustang
Carroll Shelby
Ken Miles
Dan Gurney
Andretti
Michael Schumacher driving the world's fastest revving V8 (a Ford Cosworth powered Benetton) to the Formula 1 Championship!
Jack Roush
Bill Elliot forcing NASCAR to adopt "restrictor plate" racing, NASCAR having to make minimum displacement rules so Chevy's can compete, all NASCAR cars using Ford 9" differentials (as far as I know).
77-79 Ford trucks
76 & 77 Ford Bronco's
the RS-200
the Boss 302, 351, and 429
Bob Glidden - UNDEFEATED season in a small block Ford Pro-Stock
The Lightning
SVO
SVT
SVO Mustang
the CAMMER!
the early Bronco is everything Jeep builders try to build!
Toploader transmissions
overhead cams!
nothing breathes like a 4V 351C (or Boss 302)! If only the exhaust port floor was elevated it would have been even better!
not Ford, but close - the Saleen S7
Bullit
current Mustangs look GREAT!
shaker hood scoops
the Pantera
the Thunderbolt
Yep, I bleed Ford Blue!

I don't know that I'll ever have the opportunity to own a Ford GT, but to those of you that do - Congratulations, and job well done! :thumbsup

Thank you and never say never. Where there is a stong enough desire, there's a way!

Never say never.

I did not buy a new car, until I could afford the GT.

My first car was a used 1984 Rabbit. And I loved that car.

Always pursue your dreams...

Thanks for the cool thoughts!

Someone once said, "If you THINK you can't - you're right."

It's been proven time and time again, if you doubt you can do this or that - it's never going to happen. Nobody strives to do what he thinks can't be accomplished.

'Remember "the little engine that could"? That really 'ain't' a fairy tale when you come right down to it!:cheers

Pockets the Profound :biggrin

YUP! I sure have!

Lil' Pookey L-O-V-E-S videos that have cartoon characters that teach her stuff! Her's learned all kinds of numbers, and letters (and their "sounds"), and colors, and sign language (which her grampa has in turn had to learn to know what she's "signing" about!) and whole buncha other stuff from both THEM and her mommy! And her's just 18 months old!

oh...sorry! Braggin' grampa will SHUDDUP now...:O:O:O

I'm so glad my first kid is over the whole Thomas the Tank Engine videos. The wooden rail cars themselves are cool, but the documentary style video is too much to take. I can't stand the dull monologues. I am going to hide all the videos from my other little one, it's more than I can take....

How about Barney and the Teletubbies followed by Pokemon?

The thrills of grand childern, you get to share TV shows together.

Thankful that he never got into Barney or Teletubbies.

And Ben 10 Alien Force is such a better show than Pokemon.

Don't get me started on Power Rangers. But of course, my kid wants a Power Rangers party for his birthday, and my subtle attempts to convince him to at least do Transformers, have failed, so it probably will be Power Rangers.

Yep, my kids watch those too. As well as Sponge Bob!

Sponge Bob is for kids? :eek

I love that program.

:lol

Kids in the UK also watch that too. I thought the Brits had better taste than us Americans.

Hey guys! I never said I couldn't own one, just not sure it's in the cards for me right now. A family and four kids changes things for a few years at least! We all have our priorities and as truely awesome as the Ford GT is, I've got some other things to take care of right now.

Any of you guys enjoy 4x4 off-road stuff too?

I'm looking at an early Bronco project for my boys and I. Maybe an Aussie closed chamber 351C 2V, an Atlas transfer case and 5" lift.

Oh yes... that sounds about right!

Wow, I'm not sure there could be a more positive and encouraging group of car owners out there. Here is to the GT owners and lovers out there. :cheers

Here's my advice, Don't spend as much time watching cartoons as these guys or you really won't ever own a GT.:rofl

lest we forget panteras

Thanks sawb!

Edited to add the Pantera and Thunderbolt to my list (about the only thing cooler than the early Pantera is the Ford GT...okay the Saleen S7 too...okay maybe there are a handful of cars cooler, but not many!)

Never seen a Boss 427? I want one.
