New to the forum and I just wanted to say hi!
Congratulations to all Ford GT owners! This car is everything the lineage dictates it should be. For me the Ford GT evokes a visceral reaction approached by only some Ferrari's, it just screams "I'm up to something!"
Whatever the new Corvette ZR-1 brings to the table (200+ MPH top speed) the Ford GT was the FIRST American production car to break 200. Not to bash the Corvette, because it's an outstanding car in it's own right, but no amount of plexiglass or "Punisher" comic book symbols can match the "cool factor" of looking through the rear window of a GT and seeing the supercharger on top of a really hot 5.4 4V.
Okay... why I love Ford...
V8's!
289 Cobras scaring Ferrari into a shortened racing season!
427 Cobra's!
Ford GT-40's!
The 1970 351C 4V Mach 1 Mustang
Carroll Shelby
Ken Miles
Dan Gurney
Andretti
Michael Schumacher driving the world's fastest revving V8 (a Ford Cosworth powered Benetton) to the Formula 1 Championship!
Jack Roush
Bill Elliot forcing NASCAR to adopt "restrictor plate" racing, NASCAR having to make minimum displacement rules so Chevy's can compete, all NASCAR cars using Ford 9" differentials (as far as I know).
77-79 Ford trucks
76 & 77 Ford Bronco's
the RS-200
the Boss 302, 351, and 429
Bob Glidden - UNDEFEATED season in a small block Ford Pro-Stock
The Lightning
SVO
SVT
SVO Mustang
the CAMMER!
the early Bronco is everything Jeep builders try to build!
Toploader transmissions
overhead cams!
nothing breathes like a 4V 351C (or Boss 302)! If only the exhaust port floor was elevated it would have been even better!
not Ford, but close - the Saleen S7
Bullit
current Mustangs look GREAT!
shaker hood scoops
the Pantera
the Thunderbolt
Yep, I bleed Ford Blue!
I don't know that I'll ever have the opportunity to own a Ford GT, but to those of you that do - Congratulations, and job well done! :thumbsup
