GoPro mounting

I was wondering if anyone has tried mounting a GoPro inside the engine bay facing forward through the cab window. I think this would be an interesting perspective to record from but I'm not sure if I can mount it properly or if the camera can take the heat (no stock exhaust can so it's cooler than normal in there). I think I'm going to sacrifice my old HD Hero and see if I can make it work.

I was thinking of jimmy rigging a mount to the upper braces or possibly using the suction mount on the clamshell glass.

Also, if you have FRS radios, don't forget to bring them!

Be careful if you use the suction cup there - you don't want it to fall into the belt system at the front of the engine. Perhaps a catch screen or a safety tether would be in order. Temperature changes can play havoc with suction cup mounts.

Yeah, I have the tether lanyards for the camera and planned on using one or two. I'll do some inga-neering when I get the car back from the detailer tomorrow!

See you in a few days Ralphie!

That would a cool video from the engine bay!
