The magazine was $14.99 + tax so if anyone enjoys reading it use the money you saved to buy me & Dr Frank a beer at the next Rally!

That was a great read. Thanks for sharing. Here's one for you, from this month's Octane Magazine (link is to my dropbox account since the file is too large to post)

Thanks Superfly. Cool story. I saw an original road going GT40 at the Petersen Museum during Rally II but a few of my books say more than 20 were built (50 was the goal). The article states only 7 were made.

That is a great read Ed thanks. I bought two copies which BTW are very nice. I''l be on the lookout for the Octane issue as well!

Ed -

I believe that over 20 Mark I's and II's were built as road going models, but only 7 Mark III's (the designated road-only design) were fabricated.

I did see one error in the article, when they referred to Wyer's Mirage-based Gulf Mark I as a Mark IV.

:agree: Only 7 MKIII's.

A bunch of us Ford guys did the restoration as a volunteer project. Parked next to my 2005 GT it is amazingly small! It is really the most original Mark IIA in existance. Most were modified to Mark IIB specs.
It's a thrill to hear run and drive! We delivered it back to the Indy Museum and Todd Lassa from motor Trend did the article. Great photos I thought!
