Ford Performance App help

I have the app downloaded to my phone. Can't get the car to communicate with the phone. I have it plugged into the USB port and get a message " UBS device detected but not communicating " or some to that nature. Looked at the setting on the phone,, don't see anything obvious. Anyone else have any advice ??

When Steven made my delivery he said they were having issues with the app but were working them out. He told me if problems keep trying.

Make sure you have a USB cable that is not just a charging cable. I thought for a long time all USB cables were equal. Some are just charging cables. My old ipod doesn't work with the new car but my newer one does. Go figure.
