Emissions? CA v. others

I am about to pick up a car from another state to NY.

Do i have to worry about Emissions? ie, heard one east-coast dealer say they can't get cars from certain statesb/c they are not California emissions?

Saw another post about a owner who could not get his car registered b/c it was not proper emissions for MA?

Is there a away to check this via VIN #?

GT is all state compliant. If you are bringing it in to California you will need to do a smog check and vin # verification.

All GT should be 50 state cars, but to be safe insist that you get to see the "certificate of origin" for the VIN number of the car you are buying. On the certificate it will say whether the car complies with CA regulations.
